Tenacious Discipleship (Acts 19:8-20)

You may recall our discussion a few weeks ago about Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion (i.e., Session 13). According to Mr. Newton, every action has an equal and opposite reaction, which may be true when it comes to matters of physics, but it is certainly not true when it comes to spiritual matters.

The awesome saving power of God is vastly superior to the destructive power of Satan, whether it is metered out by the devil himself or through his myriad of soldiers, be they human or spirit. As we learned in our previous study, force was greater than counterforce when it came to Herod’s attempt to stop the advancement of the Gospel by killing James and imprisoning Peter.

In our focal passage this week (and next time too), where see Paul encounter opposition too. Peter was bold and courageous, despite Herod’s execution of James. How did Paul handle the threating situations? Did he fold up his tents and go home, or did he face them head-on with the same type of spirit-filled tenacity that fueled Peter?  Join us for the study tomorrow and find out. I promise you will come away with a few more Scripture verses to wield for the battle.

If you cannot be with us in person, feel free to download the Bible study materials for your personal use by following one of these links: PowerPoint SlidesPDF File. You can also find the video of this session on our YouTube channel soon after the meeting concludes.
