I am Eric Glover, the creator of this site and the leader of the Doubtless Living Bible study group at ClearView Baptist Church in Franklin, Tennessee. I am married to Tina Glover and we have two grown children and one wonderful grandson. I have taught Bible study classes to adults of all ages for more than 25 years and teaching God’s Word is one of my greatest passions in life. I am an ordained Southern Baptist minister and I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. I have served churches in many capacities over the years, but I am called by God to teach His Word and that is what I love doing most of all. Professionally, I serve as the Vice President of Retail Operations for LifeWay Christian Stores, one of the largest Christian retailers in the world with 160 stores across America. I have a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Missouri Southern State University. I am also a Certified Public Accountant, although I have not practiced public accounting for many years.

In a few days Tina and I will
celebrate the second birthday of Ollie, our youngest grandson, with our kids in
Georgia. He’s walking, talking, running around,
jumping, playing and even giving orders to Google Home. Suffice it to say, he’s
not a baby anymore. But he still has those beautiful curly locks of baby hair that
his momma fiercely guards as if to stop time and cherish the baby stage a while
longer.
If you are a parent or grandparent,
then it is highly likely that you know how I feel. Time passes far too fast and those precious and
memorable moments in the young lives of our children pass far too rapidly. Oh,
if we could only stop time and preserve the experience. How sweet it would be
to hold them as babies once again and savor the moment one more time.
Whether it’s an experience
that you would love to relive with your spouse, children, grandchildren, parents,
siblings or dear friends; I would bet that everyone reading this has at least
one moment in time that they wish could have lasted longer. Or in the infamous words of a popular
character; to infinity and beyond!
The Apostle Peter had just
such an experience and he felt the same way we do about stopping time to
preserve the moment. In fact, it was such a grand and glorious event that he
wanted it to be permanent. What was the event that made such an indelible mark
on the Apostle? It happened on a mountainside just northeast of the Sea of Galilee
where Peter was with two of his closest friends. On that mountain Peter, James
and John saw something that changed them forever.
Join us this week as
we unpack Luke 9:28-50 to find out what event it was that left them speechless,
astonished and amazed.
