I am Eric Glover, the creator of this site and the leader of the Doubtless Living Bible study group at ClearView Baptist Church in Franklin, Tennessee. I am married to Tina Glover and we have two grown children and one wonderful grandson. I have taught Bible study classes to adults of all ages for more than 25 years and teaching God’s Word is one of my greatest passions in life. I am an ordained Southern Baptist minister and I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. I have served churches in many capacities over the years, but I am called by God to teach His Word and that is what I love doing most of all. Professionally, I serve as the Vice President of Retail Operations for LifeWay Christian Stores, one of the largest Christian retailers in the world with 160 stores across America. I have a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Missouri Southern State University. I am also a Certified Public Accountant, although I have not practiced public accounting for many years.

Have you ever been the subject of intense scrutiny? For many of my friends who have held top
secret security clearances during their lifetime, it may be old hat. If you’ve
ever held public office, then likely you have found yourself under the microscope
a time or two yourself. But in both of those cases, you knew what you were
getting into before you started the process.
For most of us, it’s very uncomfortable when you suddenly and
unexpectedly find yourself underneath the magnifying glass exactly in the hot
spot at the focal point of where the glaring lights concentrate squarely on you.
If you have ever been there, then you know that it can burn you just like that
old newspaper test proved in science lab so many years ago.
Indeed, many fine men and women have crumbled under that level
of intense scrutiny. But not Jesus. In fact, that level of scrutiny only served
to highlight his wisdom, grace, mercy and humility. Time after time, trap after
trap, Jesus was always one step ahead of the interrogators. He knew their
thoughts and their motives. Though they tried, repeatedly, they were never able
to burn Him.
Rather, it was Jesus who inverted the lens and magnified the
power to expose attitudes, actions and aspirations that are inconsistent with Kingdom
citizenship. What are they? What attitudes did He promote? What actions did He
condemn? What aspirations did He encourage? Yeah, you
guessed it. You’ll have to join us for
the study this week to find out.
If you are
unable to join us in person for this study, please feel free to download the
Bible study materials for your personal use by following one of these links: PowerPoint Slides, PDF File. For more
